ANNIE's INTERVIEW

Q: How many children do you have and how old are they?
A: Two kids: girl age 7 and boy age 5

Q: What inspired you to create this playroom?
A: Living in a climate that’s cold half the year requires a lot of indoor play! My husband and I are very physically active and enjoy exercise and we wanted a space adjacent to our gym where our kids could be active too, in a play-like manner. It is also a space where they can connect with each other and have constructive and healthy play time. They are at the perfect age to enjoy the products you offer.

Q: Where are you from?
A: Michigan

Q: Did you design it yourself?
A: I had a call with Project Playroom and they helped me think through which products might make sense, but then I designed it on my own. I had to first figure out where the proper support structures were to make safety the priority, then when I knew where studs and joists were, I could select the products around that.

Q: What materials were required that were not included in your Project Playroom order?
A: The only materials I purchased for the building phase were the wood 2x4 items and wood screws. Since we live in an old home, the joists and studs aren’t the typical dimensions so I had to screw the wood into where the support is, and then add the Project Playroom items onto the wood 2x4s. There are a couple play items that weren’t purchased through Project Playroom such as the gymnastics bar and trampoline.

Q: How did you first hear about Project Playroom?
A: I believe I found it via a Google search when I searched for kids playrooms.

Q: What was your experience like setting up and installing our products?
A: It was very easy once I did the research on my end to find the right support in the ceilings and behind the drywall. The rock wall was especially easy as were the swings.

Q: Did the products you ordered arrive in a timely manner?
A: Yes, very timely!

Q: How long did it take you from start to finish?
A: I placed my order in early October and the playroom was complete by mid to late November, so about 6 weeks.
